Lake Tōya (洞爺湖)

Lake Toya (洞爺湖)  is a volcanic caldera lake. This is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Hokkaido. I had been here five years ago.

One of the best places to view the lake was the Sairo Observatory (サイロ展望台). It was a great sunny day, the views were fantastic! With great lights, the pictures would always turn out good :)
One could also take a helicopter around the lake (costly).

A short distance from the Sairo Observatory was the Lake Hill Farm (レークヒル・ファーム). The Lake Hill Farm had a gelato shop and restaurant. We got ourselves gelato and sat outside next to the flower gardens.

At the back of the building, you could see Mount Yotei (羊蹄山 ). Mount Yotei was also frequently called the "Hokkaido Fuji". There were groups of children playing not too far from us. The nature view and superb weather really made this a great day.
